Trying something new!!

After reading Plant, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver, I decided I wanted to try something new -- a winter garden.  

They say that winter gardens (known as spring gardens in the rest of the US - but here in Texas they start in January!) are actually easier than spring/summer gardens, because you don't have to deal with the heat.

We'll find out!

Today, I purchased 40 asparagus crowns, 25 onions, 5 lettuce plants and an artichoke.  I'm not optimistic, but we'll see what happens!
