Russian Sage

“grows 3–5 feet tall and 4–5 feet wide best in zones 5–10 with hot summers special attributes: Fine-textured white stems and small, aromatic, often deeply cleft gray-green foliage make a twiggy mass topped with airy, branched spikes of lavender-blue flowers from mid to late summer well into fall. Usually dies back quite a bit in winter, and even if not, best to cut back to a foot or less in early spring to keep strong growing and compact. Attracts bees and bumblebees. Some clones spread by underground runners to form colonies while others remain solitary.”
